Can I Cheer Allstars?
Can I cheer allstar?
The answer is Yes! Allstar boys & girls begin at age 4 yrs. old and continue in allstar cheerleading until they graduate from High School. Many of our athletes go on to cheer at the college level.
There is a place for Everyone at KC Cheer! No matter what your current level of experience - KC Cheer has a team for you! We place our cheerleaders based on age, ability & experience. KC Cheer currently has 7 competitive teams, these teams range in age and skill level from beginner to advanced. We know you will find the right team for You at KC Cheer!
New this season KC Cheer is adding a Special Needs team to begin in August 2010. - call for more info.

What's the tryout process?
Tryout clinics will be held April 12 - 16th at KC Cheer. This gives cheerleaders the opportunity to interact with the coaches at KC Cheer while perfecting jumps, tumbling & dance skills.
On the first day of the Tryout clinic (April 12th) Cheerleaders and a Parent will attend an informational meeting to review all aspects of being involved in a competitive team. We will explain time committments, costs, travel, competitions, uniforms, and team expectactions.
Do I have to be able to tumble?
No, not all cheerleaders come to KC Cheer with prior tumbling skill. (Interesting fact: Only 2 current members of our Sr. Coed Level 5 team came to KC Cheer with a Full. All others were taught this skill at KC Cheer!)
Will I be on a Team with cheerleaders my same age?
KC Cheer works very hard to keep cheerleaders within the same age group & skill level.
How Many hours per week will my team practice?
All teams (except mini's & mini tots) practice 5 hours per week. This is 2 practices per week, with tumbling included in these practices. Mini's practice 4 hours per week & Mini Tot's 3 hours per week.
What Team will I be On?
Team placement is determined by age, current skill level, & experience. KC Cheer currently has 7 competitive cheer teams - Youth level 2, Jr. level 3, Jr. Coed level 5, Sr. level 2, Sr. level 3, Sr. Coed level 4, & Sr. Coed Level 5. We will be starting a Special Needs team in August 2010. Teams and levels are determined each season by the number of participants at each level (1 thru 5).
Cheerleaders should review the basic USASF skill level requirements for tumbling and stunting to determine what level they currently are. If you have questions concerning what level you might be please feel free to ask one of the KC Cheer instructors. KC Cheer will compete each team at the level in which the team is challenged to excel, the majority of the team posess the required skills to be successful, and at which the team can perform the required skills safely.
What competitions will KC Cheer attend?
A complete list of competitions will be handed out at the tryout clinics during the parent informational meeting. KC Cheer staff selects competitions based on previous satisfaction, location, cost, organization & convienence.
What is the monthly cost & travel fees?
When you come to tryout at KC Cheer you will be given a complete packet of information that includes all costs for training, travel, uniforms, practice wear & camps. You will also be given information on our Awesome Booster Club and the ways you can earn money to help offset the cost of this sport.
