Spirit Sports Kansas City Nationals will be held at the Kansas City Convention Center (Municipal Auditorium) located at 301 W. 13th St. in Kansas City, MO on February 7-8, 2026.

Athlete Information:
Coaches meet their team in the main lobby entrance and take them to the practice area. Cheerleaders should be fully in dressed uniform and ready when they meet their coach. Athletes & Parents - part of your job at every competition is to CHEER on ALL our TEAMS. OBVIOUSLY the MORE athletes and fans we have cheering for our teams all day long the BETTER! Review the schedule and know when all the KC Cheer teams are competing.

Grey sponsor shirt with Black pants on Saturday

HAIR & MAKEUP
FULL SEASON ATHLETES:
Please check the website for hair and makeup instructions. Follow the instructions in these videos for HAIR and MAKEUP
Hair in a high ponytail with a slightly teased, curled ponytail
Everything you need for the make up is in the make up kit minus mascara or false lashes and eyeliner. Makeup is a natural eye and red lips. Only use the makeup colors in the required makeup kit. No other lipstick, no extra eyeliner or eyeshadow.
Athletes do not have to wear foundation or false lashes if they do not normally wear these.
HALF SEASON ATHLETES:
Hair in a high straight ponytail. All hair MUST be fully pulled back and smoothed with gel or hair spray (no wisps of hair)
Ponytail and Bow MUST sit on the TOP of your head and be tightly secured
Hair should be worn straight (no curls) except for athletes with naturally curly or textured hair.
If wearing a hairpiece (Posh Pony) the hairpiece MUST be tightly secured to the head.
All athletes MUST wear the red competition lipstick in the shade “Dancer”
All other makeup (foundation, blush, eyeliner, eyeshadow, mascara, false lashes, etc.) is optional and MUST be kept light and neutral in color.
Additional Important Details:
No Jewelry for any performance - this is a safety violation.
No fingernail polish or fake nails. Athletes with long nails will be required to promptly remove them. This is a BIG issue and has been addressed many times at practices. It’s dangerous to have long nails in this sport.
Put your name in ALL your apparel items. Everyone has the same thing!!
Athletes should adhere to the make-up and hair requirements. No extra colorful eyeshadow. Use only the KC Cheer Approved Make-up pallet and lipstick.

Everyone please remember that you are representing KC Cheer at each event. Win or lose, good performance or not so great, we are ONE TEAM and One FAMILY. Be kind to other teams, wish them luck and always be respectful of the judges decisions. Lastly, parents your biggest job is to support your cheerleader! Be excited when they are excited, wipe their tears if they are sad & above all remember this is a TEAM. We do not point fingers or place blame we look for the positive in each and every performance whether it’s a lesson learned or a Magical Moment, remember what you say and do has a lot to do with how your cheerleader reacts. Let the coaches do the coaching.
