UCA 2018

We're excited to head to Florida for UCA International All-Star Championship 2018. This is a huge competition full of outstanding teams and it is a ton of fun. Below you will find many travel details and guidelines for the upcoming weekend. Venue Information

The competition will be held at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in the Walt Disney World Resort. We will be staying at the Disney All-Star Sports Resort and be using the buses provided by UCA to shuttle teams and parents back and forth throughout the weekend. It is imperative that all athletes are on time, as it takes a while to get from one place to another.

Arrival

All cheerleaders should arrive in Disney's All-Star Sports Resort by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, March 9. All athletes must pack uniform, bow and shoes in their carryon bags. If you decide to use the Yellow Luggage tags provided from Disney, keep in mind that your luggage may not show up to your room for hours after your arrival.  Put everything you need for that day in your carry on so that you are not without your shoes or practice wear or something necessary for that day. You can also choose NOT to use your yellow luggage tags and just carry your bags to your hotel room yourself.

Everyone traveling and staying at the team hotel will pick up their own room keys, park hopper passes and lanyards for the weekend. If you are sharing a room with another family, the person who will be arriving at the hotel first will pick up the package for the entire room. However, if you did not provide KC Cheer with your flight information the room contact will be under whomever in the room did turn in their flight information. Be sure you communicate with those you are sharing a room with to make arrangements to meet them.

Curfew

KC Cheer will be enforcing a strict 11:00 p.m. curfew for all team members. This means all athletes must be in their rooms at 10:30 p.m. with lights out by 11:00. This does not mean leaving a park at 10:15 because your curfew is at 10:30. You will not make it back in time. The staff will be strictly monitoring this, and athletes found outside of their rooms after curfew will not compete the next day.

 

We realize that this event is taking place in Walt Disney World, and are excited to allow our athletes the opportunity to go to the parks and spend time at the hotel pool in their free time if they arrive before 5 on Friday. Please note that the priority for the weekend is to perform with your team and support KC Cheer, and this is not a vacation. There will be no swimming allowed starting on Saturday until after you're finished performing on Sunday. It is imperative that you are on time to all of your team meetings and practices, and adhering to the curfews put in place by the staff. It takes approximately 1 hour to get from a park back to the hotel on a Disney bus, and you cannot get to the Wide World of Sports directly from a park. Please keep this in mind as you plan your days so that you are not late for practices, meet times or curfews. 


Friday, March 9

Team members will be arriving throughout the day, so the morning is yours to spend however you like. We will be having team practices on the football field at the hotel starting at 6:30, and all athletes should meet on the Football Field at this time. Athletes should wear their sparkle practice wear and white bow to practice. Again, if you're going to a park on Friday please make sure you leave plenty of time to get back to the hotel for practice. You should plan on it taking at least an hour to get from the park back to the hotel.

Friday Practices @ 6:30 p.m.

ll cheerleaders will be in their rooms by 10:30, with lights out at 11:00.

Saturday, March 10

IMPORTANT: You must have your lanyard and park hopper pass to get on the bus and into ESPN.

Fearless Attire: White Uniform, red bow, red jersey 

Fierce 5 Attire: Gray uniform, red bow, red jersey

Team members will board the bus at the hotel at 12:45 p.m. They should be dressed and ready at this time.

Team members will load the buses after Fearless and  return to hotel. Team parents will let you know when and where we will have a team meeting and potentially practice. Remember that all team members must be in their rooms by 10:30 and lights out at 11:00.

Saturday night is daylight savings. Be sure to set your clock one hour ahead before you go to sleep on Saturday Night

Sunday, March 11

Fearless Attire: Red Uniform, White Bow, Team Tank

Fierce 5 Attire: Gray Uniform, Red Bow, Team Tank

All team members will leave the hotel at 12:00.

After awards we will return to the hotel. Team members & spectators staying at the team hotel will receive passes for the UCA night at the park on Sunday night.
