We're excited to start our 2016-2017 Cheer Prep season at KC Cheer. While many of you have been participating in our special summer cheer prep program, all athletes interested in being part of a team for the season must attend evaluations on September 15 or September 17.
All parents who have not already attended a parent informational meeting must do so during the September evaluations. All information regarding meeting times can be found on the Cheer Prep Events Calendar
Our Cheer Prep program is a great way to introduce new athletes to the sport and provide an option that is a bit of a lower commitment than our allstar program. Allstar families, please pass this information along to anyone you think might be interested in joining the KC Cheer family through Cheer Prep!
KC Cheer yearbooks will be available to order on September 6, 7 and 8. Stop by the arena between 5:00 and 7:30 one of these days to place an order.
Yearbooks are $35, and if you order before September 8 you will receive a free pair of KC Cheer Spirit Sunglasses.
During the order dates listed above, you may also purchase a personal ad to wish your cheerleader luck this season. Personal ads are $30 and feature two options:
80% of the proceeds from the personal ads will go toward gym improvements, and 20% will be used to fund the Booster Club yearbook.
We will have Ryan and Andy in town from September 17 - September 23 to teach team dances and finish up final routine choreography. These practices are mandatory, and are listed below, You can also find your team's practice times in the

Please be sure to register your athlete for 2017 USASF Membership. This membership is required for your athlete to compete during the season. Every athlete must register for the 2017 season whether he/she is a new athlete or a returning athlete. Instructions on membership registration can be found under the all star forms section. Please be sure to follow the correct instructions. There is a form for new athletes and a form for returners.
If you have cheered before at another gym and this is your first year at KC Cheer, your profile has already been moved to the KC Cheer account. Please register as a returning member.
We need your help earning a spot for Fierce 5 in the Majors. The Majors is an extremely selective level 5 cheerleading competition held in Indianapolis in January. Only the best of the best are chosen to compete at the Majors.
Fierce 5 has recently been selected for the chance to be the 2017 "Majors Choice." The final spot in the competition is awarded to a team that is selected "by the fans" on social media (that's why there's a question mark on that red banner in the picture!)
Starting at 11:00 a.m. on July 18 until 5:00 p.m. on July 21, Fierce 5, Fame Super Seniors, California All Stars Black ops and Woodlands Elite Black Ops will be competing for the final spot via Twitter. Each team has been given an official hashtag, and the team whose hashtag gets used the most will earn the final spot.
This is where our KC Cheer family comes in. We need you all to tweet using that hashtag as many times as you can between now and July 21. Tell your friends to tweet and advertise on all of your social media accounts to send people to twitter to post using the hashtag.
(please note, per the official rules of the contest any profanity or negativity associated with our hashtag can result in disqualification from the contest)
If you have any questions at all you can email info@kccheer.com or ask Katie Lewis.
TELL EVERYONE YOU GUYS THIS IS GOING TO BE SO FUN!

It's officially summertime at KC Cheer! Below we've listed a variety of events to build skills, raise money and have fun over the summer. All of the events are also listed in their appropriate categories on the new website. Sign up for these camps and classes today!
Team practices for all teams will begin next Monday, June 6th. This week, beginning on Tuesday, all Recreational tumbling classes will be held as usual. The CheerSource tumbling clinics will also be held this Thursday and Friday and it's not too late to register for your level clinic.
This is a reminder that "Fundraising Favorites" orders are due this Thursday, (May 26) by 8:00 p.m. Orders may be turned in at the Main Gym in the Booster Club mailbox.
All orders turned in to the Booster Club mailbox should include:
All orders must be picked up on June 16 between 5:00 and 6:30 in the main gym. Some items are frozen and they will not be stored at the gym after 6:30 p.m., so it is very important that you come and pick up your order.
If you have any questions please contact Susan Coffee.
CheerSource will be at the gym on June 2 and 3 teaching tumbling clinics for athletes of all ages and skill levels. The clinics will be two hours long, and include two instructors per session. Space is limited, and on a first come, first served basis. Sessions are $50 per cheerleader, and the clinics are open to both KC Cheer members and non members.
Times and dates for each session can be found on the allstar events calendar.
Athletes must meet all minimum requirements to participate in that level's clinic. Minimum requirements are listed below:
No skill requirements
Information about practice wear fittings has been posted in the allstar events calendar.
Allstar events calendar can be found in the "allstar" dropdown menu.
Parents and Cheerleaders,
Below you will find the May practice times for the 2016-2017 season. Please note that there will be many changes made at the staff’s discretion during the month of May as we try to assemble the strongest teams possible. During the month of May, cheerleaders may be asked to attend various practices if the staff feels the cheerleader’s skills are better suited for a different practice group. We feel confident that we hold a thorough evaluation process in which we are able to form the best possible teams and provide a positive experience for each cheerleader.
If you are not on this list it is either because you did not pay the registration fee and/or were not present at evaluations. Please contact us to resolve this issue.
All athletes who are members of teams competing with KC Cheer at Worlds or The Summit and did not participate in tryout evaluations are listed in the level they competed with in the postseason (i.e., if you’re on Frost right now, you’re in the Level 3 group for now). Athletes will be re-distributed accordingly based on evaluation at the first May practice.
Contract signing is April 27. All paperwork and payment arrangements must be complete prior to participation in any May practices.
Click on each level to view the list and practice times.
KC Cheer is excited to announce our tryouts for the 2016-2017 Cheer Prep season!
Cheer prep teams will start team practices in October, but members of the Cheer Prep program have the option of taking a special Cheer Prep tumbling class during the summer. If you are not interested in this special class, you do not need to attend any meetings until September. Here are the dates for the Cheer Prep tryout parent meetings, clinics and contract signing. Please visit our tryout information page for details about each event.
Parents must attend the informational meeting, at which we will provide information about the program and how to sign up. There will be a meeting in June which will cover information both about the Cheer Prep program and the summer tumbling class. There will be another meeting held in September for those who choose not to participate in the Summer tumbling class:
Athletes must be registered online in order to participate in clinics. In September, we will hold an evaluation clinic in order to sort Cheer Prep athletes into teams. Cheer prep teams will then begin practices in October.
